- Who Are We?
-
We are a diverse group of singers and instrumentalists
ranging in age from teenagers to retired, and in musical ability from
non-music readers to people with extensive musical experience. Although we
have different backgrounds and abilities, we enjoy each other’s company and
the chance to learn and perform music together.
- What Do We Do? -
Our main focus is on introducing contemporary music to the
9.45am “Worship Now!” service. We sing and play some of the music by
ourselves and some together with the congregation. We hold regular “Songs of
Praise” evenings throughout the year where we enjoy performing some old
favourites as well as introducing some new music.
- How Do I Join? -
Usually there are between 8 and 15
singers, a couple of guitars, a keyboard, and, when we’re lucky, some drums!
We’re always looking for new people to join the group.
We meet for an hour on Thursday evenings
at 7.30pm and then for a 20 minute run through on Sunday mornings before the
9.45am service.
You don’t have to commit to coming every
single Sunday. Singers and musicians are always welcome to come to the
Thursday evening rehearsal before singing or playing on the Sunday morning,
and we can be even more flexible if you can read music.
