 - TAI CHI CHUAN -

 - Who Are We? -

These classes are run by Angela Fallon who is a Master Grade, 2nd Teng Chi Teacher with East West Taoist Association. She trains with Howard Gibbon in Scarborough once a month to maintain her standard. She is passionate about the wonderful art of Tai Chi. She writes;

In our hectic and stressful lives, there is very little time for us to nurture ourselves. Tai Chi Chuan is an ancient art of slow graceful movements which helps us on many different levels -

bullet Mind: Tai Chi helps develop a focused mind, greater self awareness and better memory.
bullet Body: Tai Chi helps to improve muscle tone, flexibility and balance. Regular practitioners report improved joint mobility and decreased pain.
bullet Spirit: deep breathing exercises and the meditative quality of the Tai Chi Forms help us find a sense of peace, an inner calm.

With so many benefits to be gained, perhaps the question should be, ‘Why not do Tai Chi?’

  - What Do We Do? -

There are a number of styles of Tai Chi and all are beneficial. We practice Lee Style. We do breathing exercises, adhering hand, meditation, Tai Chi form and progress to Tai Chi Dance, Stick, Silk and Sword over time. Our emphasis is learning through enjoyment and relaxation.
