The Forum at Fairmilehead

All ladies, and gentlemen, are welcome to Fairmilehead  Forum.  We are a friendly group who meet together socially,  to listen to interesting speakers and to make new friends. We meet on the 2nd and 4th Wednesdays of the month at 7.45pm during the autumn, winter and spring terms and about 45-50 people attend each meeting - an excellent way to get to know people in our community.

Each year we choose a Charity to support.  This year it is the Sick Kids Foundation.

We also look forward to welcoming new  members, gentlemen too!  Please get in touch with us - Linda Ross (President) or Kathryn Higgs (Secretary) through the Church Office if you would like more information.

The Sick Kids Friends Foundation (SKFF) supports and complements the work of the Royal Hospital for Sick Children, Edinburgh (The Sick Kids) as well as other children’s healthcare settings across the southeast of Scotland and beyond.

We want every one of the 100,000 children who visit the hospital each year, and the many more being supported in local communities, to receive the very best of care.

SKFF does this by funding:

  • Comforts, distractions and enhanced facilities for children and their families
  • The very latest medical equipment and research
  • Family support and play services
  • Innovative art projects including our Artists in Residence
  • Training for staff

SKFF is able to provide this support thanks to the generosity of its many supporters, who contribute vital funds in a variety of ways.  Since 1992 The Sick Kids Friends Foundation has contributed over £10 million to support children and their families using healthcare services at the Royal Hospital for Sick Children, and throughout NHS Lothian.
